Landing that job

In light of Friday's anemic jobs report, it's clear that competition for open jobs is not going to get any easier.

So how do you get an edge?

A job interview is a sales pitch. The hiring manager (customer) has a (human) problem s/he needs to solve, and is looking for the best possible (hiring) solution. What is it they want?

Like most customers, they seek a combination of features and functionality (in the form of experience and skills) and attributes.

What can you learn from marketers, who deal with customers 24x7? Research shows that customers invariably want a combination of the following: client focus, leadership, business savvy, innovativeness and trustworthiness.

Does your sales pitch address these?
